Perpetual twilight - Formerly TLH858

{Perpetual - Eternal; Permanent during life. Valid for ever or for indefinite time.

 Twilight - Light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon in morning or evening.

O.E.D. 1964}

And so, we did travel,

To the place where the sea meets the sky.

And in that timeless place

We did learn to fly.

Over the waves, but under the scattered clouds

In small flocks of maybe three or four

We did search and quest

Knowing that there was, indeed, more …

The rays of the ever { setting rising }* sun

Emblazoned as the arms of “The Wheel”

Strangely orange and brightly shining

It did make us pause, and kneel.

Curiously, yet slowly, we moved

Onward in our joyous path

Unknowing (for that is the only way),

We transcended the world of light and dark.

And now, we have no need to travel

Our journey is all done

We have found our place, at last,

It is out with, see, look, “The One” …

And so, we did travel,

To the place where the sea meets the sky.

And in that timeless place

We did learn to fly.

NOTE:
*{
setting rising }
- these two words are to be “read” contemporaneously as twilight is actually both!
